ROBERT A. CLIFFORD, ILLINOIS STATE DELEGATE TO THE ABA HOUSE OF DELEGATES
Robert A. Clifford, partner at Clifford Law Offices
of Chicago, serves as the Illinois State Delegate to the American Bar
Association House of Delegates. He was inducted in 2005 and is
serving a three-year term.
The House of Delegates is the policymaking body that
makes recommendations to the ABA House of Governors on various issues
that impact the 400,000-member national organization as well as
practicing attorneys across the country.
Clifford has been appointed a Member of the
Committee on Issues of Concern to the Legal Profession, reporting to
the House of Delegates. He also serves as Chair of the Standing
Committee on Strategic Communications. He was selected to the
Executive Committee of the Conference of State Delegates.
Most recently, he has served as Chair of the Task
Force on Hurricane Katrina as well as Chair of the Task Force on
Terrorism and the Law. He was elected Chair of the Section of
Litigation, the ABA’s largest section with some 70,000 members in
2001-02. He has served in numerous other positions for the ABA
