Clifford Law Offices Files Lawsuit on Behalf of Father Killed by Drunk Chicago Firefighter
Press Release, 03/24/2006Clifford Law Offices will file a lawsuit Friday (March 24, 2006) on behalf of a 45-year-old father of four who was killed on the Kennedy Expressway while changing a flat tire in November. He was run down by an off-duty Chicago fire battalion chief who was drunk at the time of the fatal crash.
Killed was Jose Sandoval of suburban Carpentersville. He was changing a tire on his Ford van near the Foster Avenue entrance when he was struck by a 2000 Dodge and was thrown nearly 30 feet. Joseph Guidi, 54, was charged with one count of aggravated DUI.
The civil lawsuit filed today alleges negligence and reckless conduct. The defendant failed a field sobriety test. He is on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal investigation.
