Clifford Symposium to Feature Country's Leading Jurists and Attorneys on Civil Justice Reform

“The Challenge of 2020: Preparing a Civil Justice Reform Agenda for the Coming Decade” is the topic of the 14th Annual Clifford Symposium on Civil Justice, Tort Law and Social Policy on April 3-4.

The free symposium will feature an all-star faculty from around the country including the Hon. James Holderman, Chief Judge, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois; Hon. Jack Weinstein, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York; Hon. Shira Scheindlin, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York; Hon. Lee Rosenthal, U.S. District Court, Southern District of Texas. Also on the panel will be Kenneth Feinberg, Special Master of the 9/11 Victims’ Compensation Fund, Shari Diamond, Professor, Northwestern University School of Law; Marc Galanter, Professor, University of Wisconsin Law School; and Robert Grey Jr., partner at Hunton & Williams in Richmond, Va., and former President of the American Bar Association.

The program will examine the American civil justice system and how the issues of today will affect the legal framework in the decades to come.

The program will be held at the DePaul Center, Room 8005, 1 E. Jackson Blvd., Chicago.  Reservations are accepted by calling 312-362-5292 or visiting the school’s website at www.law.depaul.edu/clifford.  Under Illinois CLE rules, 8.25 credit hours are offered for attending the symposium.

Robert A. Clifford, nationally renowned trial attorney, endowed DePaul University College of Law with a generous grant in 1994 that provides for the symposium.  Stephan Landsman, Professor at DePaul University College of Law, is Chair of the Symposium.
