Clifford Law Offices yesterday filed a lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court on behalf of the two adult children who lost their mom when a speeding Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) bus reportedly ran a red light and careened into pedestrians in a crosswalk and on a sidewalk before crashing into a concrete wall during rush hour at crowded Michigan and Lake in Chicago’s downtown last Tuesday. Several media outlets including WBBM-AM radio, Fox News, WGN-TV and NBC Chicago interviewed attorneys at the firm handling the matter including partners Robert A. Clifford, Kevin P. The Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune newspapers also covered the story as did Associate Press and DNA, a local downtown media outlet.
In a story that appears in today’s Chicago Tribune by transportation reporter Jon Hilkevitch, he states that there could have been as many as three passengers on this bus that initially was reported as being empty, click here to view.
Today lawyers at Clifford Law Offices indicated that they intend to file a protective order in court asking for the CTA to preserve all evidence, including the bus, so that it can be inspected by experts and to try to help determine the cause of the terrible tragedy.
