The Supreme Court of the United States Historical Society is hosting its inaugural gala. Clifford Law Offices is a proud benefactor of the event that will take place Wednesday (March 13, 2013) in New York.
Paul Cappuccio, General Counsel of Time Warner and Ted Ullyot, General Counsel of Facebook, are the evening’s honorees. Guests will be treated to a rare viewing of the first official printing of the U.S. Constitution. The document, dated Sept. 17, 1787, represents one of nine extant copies still in existence and the only one in a private collection.
The gala will be held at the Grand Ballroom of The Plaza hotel in New York City. The mission of the Supreme Court Historical Society, a non-profit organization, is to collect and preserve the history of the Supreme Court of the United States and the federal judiciary. Historical research, educational programs, publication of books and journals, and the collection of antiques and artifacts related to the history of the Court are all activities that are designed to increase the awareness of the public of the Court’s role to our nation’s rich constitutional history.
