Sarah F. King and Keith A. Hebeisen, attorneys at Clifford Law Offices, appeared Wednesday morning (June 26, 2019) on WBEZ radio (91.5 FM) in Chicago to talk about their recent $8.5 million settlement on behalf of the family of a newborn mother who died at childbirth.
Hebeisen and King obtained the settlement against Stroger Hospital and another Chicagoland hospital on behalf of the family of 38-year-old Leticia Lara who died in 2013 following the delivery of her child.
Hebeisen and King spoke to WBEZ reporter Mike Puente about the problem of maternal morbidity in the state and how the civil justice system can help to investigate what went wrong and discover how to better prevent these types of tragic mistakes from happening.
