Shannon M. McNulty, partner at Clifford Law Offices and head of the firm’s mass tort/class action practice, was named Co-Lead Counsel in the litigation involving business interruption claims resulting from the pandemic that has severely hit this country’s businesses.

McNulty, head of the firm’s mass tort/class action practice, was one of five attorneys from across the country who was named by U.S. District Court Judge Edmond E. Chang who is hearing the cases involving the severe disruption of businesses due to coronavirus.

As Judge Chang wrote of his appointment of Lead Counsel in his Dec. 13, 2020 order, “They bring the right expertise in the pertinent area of law, leadership experience in other MDLs [Multi District Litigation] or class actions, and representativeness of different perspectives (both substantively in Illinois and non-Illinois cases and strategically in factual development and in considering the pluses and minuses of mass actions versus class actions).”

McNulty, who has served as lead counsel in several major class actions including the defective Pella Window litigation, talcum powder litigation and defective DePuy hip litigation.
