Richard F. Burke shared with Lawdragon in his Lawyer Limelight interview how his early experience as a law clerk and then a prosecutor influenced his success as a trial lawyer, leading to multiple million-dollar-plus settlements in a variety of personal injury cases from truck accidents to catastrophic injuries.
Burke, who is a partner at Clifford Law Offices, has been with the firm for over 30 years where he is known as a tireless worker and a behind-the-scenes leader. He shares the firm’s passion for providing all clients with the highest caliber representation and preparedness from the very beginning stages of a case through settlement or trial. Burke says, “The most satisfying part of my practice is the opportunity to help people when they have been involved in a tragedy or catastrophe that has truly altered every aspect of their lives. They need legal assistance in order to obtain help on many levels, including medical care, mental health treatment, and financial compensation.”
He says of his firm, “At Clifford Law Offices we make certain to provide each of our clients with the highest quality representation and prepare every case with the expectation that it will proceed to trial.”
At a young age, Richard realized the everyday impact that the law has on a number of fields including business, education, entertainment, journalism, and government, and how beneficial a law degree can be across many careers. This concept inspired him to attend law school, where he began work as a law clerk for a litigation firm. He attributes his early success to the experience he received there and urges law students to find similar positions that will offer real-world application of the concepts learned in school: “It will also give students a very pragmatic understanding of the practice of law that is very different from the legal principles and concepts that are a foundation of every law school curriculum.”
Burke’s dedication to clients and seen tremendous success as a trial lawyer with Clifford Law Offices.
