“Privacy, Data Theft, and Corporate Responsibility” was the theme of the 22nd Annual Clifford Symposium on Tort Law and Social Policy at DePaul University College of Law on April 28-29, 2016. Discussions and remarks were split over two days with the first day focusing on tort perspectives and real-world challenges, and the second day focusing on privacy.
Expert faculty from all over the country came together at DePaul University to share their expertise and perspective on privacy and responsibility. Speakers included Mark Geistfeld, Robert Rabin, Catherine Sharkey, Danielle Citron, Jane Bambauer, Michele Goodwin, Shauhin Talesh, Max Helveston, Margot Kaminski, Andrea Matwyshyn, Felix Wu, Paul Ohm, Ryan Carlo, Julie Cohen, and Neil Richards.
The free, in-person symposium was open to the public and offered up to seven hours of CLE credit for lawyers and law students.
The Clifford Symposium takes pride in developing conversations surrounding meaningful and controversial topics that shape law and society. Other Symposium topics over the past 21 years have included “The Supreme Court, Business and Civil Justice,” “In Honor of Jack Weinstein,” and “Brave New World: The Changing Face of Litigation and Law Firm Finance.”
