Thomas “TJ” Tomasik, partner at the firm, is an experienced trial lawyer having tried many complex medical malpractice cases to verdict as well as been involved in numerous mediations involving catastrophic injuries in his near decade as an attorney.
He has managed a caseload of dozens of complex medical malpractice cases, from preparing experts for trial to the pleading stage through trial, which includes drafting dispositive motions on a variety of legal issues. He is working at the firm on cases involving negligent obstetrical care and wrongful death hospital care cases.
Prior to his previous work at a trial firm, Tomasik clerked at several law firms as well as serving as a records clerk at the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office and as a victims’ volunteer legal assistant at the Cook County Domestic Violence Court House.
Tomasik is involved in many bar associations and has researched, edited, and contributed to Chapter 24 on Pre-Trial Discovery of the treatise, “Illinois Law and Practice: The Law of Medical Malpractice in Illinois.” He has also organized presentations of hundreds of attorneys on topics such as “Dealing with the Reptile at Trial” and “Technology in the Courtroom.”
Tomasik obtained his J.D. at DePaul University College of Law and his B.A. in Political Science and Classical Studies at Purdue University.
Tomasik grew up in Chicago’s western suburbs in a family of medical providers. He is known for his compassionate and hard-working approach to his cases. He enjoys running marathons and is a history buff. He and his wife live on Chicago’s west side.
