Robert A. Clifford, founder and senior partner of Clifford Law Offices, was honored by the Chicago Bar Association (CBA) at its 150th Anniversary Celebration with the CBA’s inaugural Champion of Justice Award. The award will be presented to future recipients as “The Robert A. Clifford Champion of Justice Award” to continually recognize his tremendous commitment to the association, the legal profession, dedication to clients, the will to fight for what is right, and earnest furtherance of the profession through educational and mentorship efforts.
“Annually, this prestigious award will celebrate an outstanding member who champions justice in the Illinois legal community, just as Bob has done throughout his distinguished career.”
-Timothy Tomasik, Chicago Bar Association Past President
A supporter of the CBA’s mission to “maintain the honor and dignity of the profession of the law and to promote the general welfare of the members thereof,” since his start as a young attorney, Bob’s many contributions to the organization include being elected president (2011-12), vice president (2010-2011), and treasurer (2009-2010). He has been involved with many of the association’s committees, including serving as the chair of the Tort Litigation Committee (1983-1984) and the chair of the Nominating Committee (2014), as well as representing the attorneys of the CBA in the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates (2003-2005).
Founded in 1874, the Chicago Bar Association remains one of the oldest and most active bar associations in the United States. Congratulations to Bob Clifford who continues the great legacy of the CBA, influencing the important work that brings together the legal community and impacts the lives of the people of Chicago.
