Sarah F. King, partner at Clifford Law Offices, will be sworn in as President of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois (WBAI) on Thursday, June 27, at the 110th Annual Installation and Dinner. The event will be held at 5 p.m. at the Palmer House Hilton, 17 E. Monroe St., Chicago.
Sarah King has had substantial trial experience as an attorney of record in many of the firm’s trials. In less than a decade, she has received verdicts and settlements totaling nearly $400 million. Earlier this year, King was appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to the Supreme Court Committee on Character and Fitness.
Her awards are many including being Selected to Illinois Super Lawyers® since 2023, Best Lawyers® in America since 2021, Illinois Super Lawyers® Rising Star since 2016, and an Emerging Lawyer with Law Bulletin Media from 2017-2020. Crain’s Custom Media named her one of the Most Influential Women Lawyers in Chicago in 2017. She was recognized as a Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and Chicago Lawyer Women in Law Honoree in 2020.
Sarah graduated from DePaul University College of Law summa cum laude as a member of the top 5 percent of her class and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.
The WBAI was established in 1914 by nine women lawyers practicing in the Chicago area with the intent to promote the interests and welfare of women lawyers. It is one of the oldest and largest bar associations in Illinois. The annual reception celebrates representatives of the association’s mission who serve as a voice for justice advocating for women, children, and families, and promoting the success and growth of women in the legal profession.
