For more than a year, ABC News has been working on getting the story behind the two crashes of a new Boeing aircraft, the MAX, that killed 346 people. It culminated in a two-hour documentary, “Falling From the Sky,” that aired on ABC Friday, November 27, 2020. More than three million people viewed the genesis of two new aircraft crashing, and Boeing’s profit-seeking culture that led to these avoidable tragedies.
Robert A. Clifford was a guest on the episode. “This is going to go down as one of the most callous deliberate efforts to keep a product in the public domain for the wrong reasons,” he said on air in regards to the Boeing Max aircraft.
In regards to the FAA’s certification process, he said, “It [is] like the fox guarding the chicken coop. When you have Boeing certifying Boeing, hello, what do you expect out of that?”
