ABC-TV in Chicago (WLS) features a weekly report on a Chicago area high school. This week’s selection was Marist High School on Chicago’s South Side in the Mt. Greenwood neighborhood, alma mater of Robert A. Clifford, founding and senior partner of Clifford Law Offices.
Clifford, who graduated from the high school in 1969, is part of WLS’ Friday Flyover that features fun facts about the school that opened 55 years ago.

Tom Gorzelanny, Class of 2000, MLB player (Cubs, Brewers, Nationals, Pirates)
Nic Weishar, Class of 2014, and current tight end, University of Notre Dame football
Other fun facts include that four students in the last three school years have earned a perfect score of 36 on the ACT college entrance test, and the school’s girls volleyball team is the defending state and national champion and will be looking to defend its title the week of Oct. 22.
Tonight’s football game is at home in Red & White Stadium against Marian Central Catholic (Woodstock, Ill.). Varsity kick-off is at 7 p.m. Marist is currently 6-1 and with wins this week and next, the team will capture its third consecutive conference title.
