Clifford Law Offices, a national renown personal injury and wrongful death law firm in Chicago, is absorbing and merging with the Law Office of Kenneth C. Chessick, M.D., effective Nov. 1.
Dr. Chessick’s practice, which opened nearly 30 years ago, concentrates in medical malpractice litigation on behalf of plaintiffs and patients. Dr. Chessick will become of counsel to Clifford Law Offices.
Dr. Chessick was honored last weekend at his alma mater, Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, for his multi-million-dollar donation to the school that helped to build the Kenneth and Ellen Chessick Athletic Practice Facility, in his and his wife’s name. The dedication and ribbon cutting was held before the Huskies football game. The team is 8-0 and is ranked 17th nationally in the Bowl Championship Series standings.
Also joining Clifford Law Offices is one associate from the Chessick firm: Marta Kowalczyk Davidson. Chessick’s Arlington Heights office will close and the new lawyers will move into Clifford Law Offices at 120 N. LaSalle St., Chicago.
Keith Hebeisen, partner at the firm who concentrates in medical malpractice along with partner Susan A. Capra and associate Sarah F. King, begins a med mal trial Tuesday in the Cook County Circuit Court.
“Ken has a unique perspective as a medical doctor as well as a lawyer,” founding partner Robert A. Clifford said of the merge. “We are very excited about this because we feel it enhances our work in this field as well as our commitment to our clients.”
The addition of the four attorneys brings the total number of lawyers at the firm to 24.
