Georgetown University Law Center Professor Maria Glover, who was selected as the 2022 Clifford Scholar-in-Residence, will be hosting an hour-long discussion on the topic of “The Law of the Back-End” at DePaul University and online on November 4, 2021, at 3pm CST.
Professor Glover will address a series of cross-cutting issues that arise in mass litigation after settlements have been reached – the “back end” of mass litigation. While many consider the settlement as the endgame, Professor Glover argues that for many mass litigations, the settlement is just the beginning and calls for the development of “Back-End Law” for mass litigation settlement. This law would create transparency, introduce and harness adversarialism, and generate needed development of precedent in this area of civil justice.
An introduction to the event will be given by Clifford Law Offices Founder and Senior Partner Robert A. Clifford and will feature a response from a senior commentator, Professor Samuel Issacharoff. Bonnie and Richard Reiss Professor of Constitutional Law, NYU School of Law.
The event is free to attend in person or online, but you must register here.
This presentation has been approved for one hour of CLE credit.
