Each year the American College of Trial Lawyers presents the National Trial Competition which engages more than 140 law schools and over 1,000 law students nationwide in competition. The winning teams and the schools they represent are the recipients of monetary prizes and honors.
Clifford Law Offices partner Keith Hebeisen, a Fellow of the College, joined this year’s Region 9 finals as a presiding judge. The event, hosted by Kent Law School, took place virtually on February 18-20th, 2022. Regional winners move on in the competition.
As a presiding judge, Mr. Hebeisen brought 37 years of experience as a trial lawyer in a wide range of cases concentrated in the area of medical malpractice. He is well known for his matter-of-fact style in the courtroom and the thoroughness of his investigations, preparedness, and delivery of his cases, which result in successful resolutions for his clients.
The ACTL is committed to the success of young trial lawyers pursuing their education and turns to longstanding leaders in the profession to serve as evaluators and observers in the process of the competition. Students who are competing value the insight and critiques provided by lawyers serving as judges and evaluators throughout the rounds of competition.
