The Chicago Bar Association (CBA) has selected Robert A. Clifford, founder and senior partner of Clifford Law Offices, to receive the inaugural Champion of Justice Award at their 150th anniversary on May 10, 2024.
Founded in 1874, the CBA is one of the oldest and most active bar associations in the United States, with the mission to “maintain the honor and dignity of the profession of the law and to promote the general welfare of the members thereof.” Mr. Clifford has supported the CBA’s mission with distinction in numerous capacities for nearly 50 years. He was elected president (2011-12), vice president (2010-2011), and treasurer (2009-2010). He has served on many of the association’s committees, including serving as the chair of the Tort Litigation Committee (1983-1984) and the chair of the Nominating Committee (2014). His dedication to the furtherance of the legal profession led him to represent the attorneys of the CBA in the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates (2003-2005).
As a further honor, this award will be presented to subsequent recipients as the Robert A. Clifford Champion of Justice Award.
