Robert A. Clifford, founder and senior partner of Clifford Law Offices, re-tried one of history’s most famous court cases: The People v. Socrates. The mock trial aired on Lakeshore PBS on May 10 and June 13, 2024. Sarah F. King, partner at Clifford Law Offices, joined Clifford as they defended Socrates (portrayed by Hollywood actor and Second City alum John Kapelos) from charges of impiety and corrupting the youth of Athens.
Set in a modern courtroom, the recreation featured some of the top legal minds in Chicago and Illinois. Sponsored by the National Hellenic Museum, the mock trial took place in May 2023 as part of the museum’s Trial Series, highlighting the enduring relevance and value of Greek thought.
