Robert A. Clifford, founder and senior partner of Clifford Law Offices, will be receiving the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA) Leonard M. Ring Lifetime Achievement Award at its 47th Annual Convention.
A committee decides on giving the Award to a lawyer each year who has demonstrated “a substantial part of their life and their practice to ITLA, someone who has done more than is called for” in the name of Ring, a prominent trial attorney in Illinois (1923-1994).
Clifford has been a member of ITLA since his induction as a lawyer in 1976 and has served as ITLA President in 1990-91. Clifford has been named a Best Lawyer since its inception and was named the 2012 Chicago Lawyer Person of the Year, based upon his trial accomplishments, his contributions to the legal community and to the Chicago area. He has the honor of being awarded the Professionalism Award for 2014 by the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. In 2017, the Chicago Bar Association (CBA) awarded Bob Clifford the Justice John Paul Stevens Award, given to those who best exemplify a commitment to integrity and public service in the practice of law.
He is Past President of the CBA and the Chicago Inn of Court. He is a member of the American Law Institute and the Inner Circle of Advocates.
The ITLA Convention will be held Friday, June 7, at the JW Marriott Chicago, 151 W. Adams. The reception begins at 6 p.m. and dinner is at 7 p.m. An after-party reception will be held at Boleo Rooftop Bar at the Kimpton Gray Hotel, 122 W. Monroe St.
