Tracy A. Brammeier, associate at Clifford Law Offices, moderated a program sponsored by the Young Lawyers Section (YLS) of the Chicago Bar Association (CBA) designed to provide a basic introduction to the Cook County Circuit Court’s practices and procedures. Brammeier, YLS Special Project Coordinator, put together an afternoon program that addressed the nuts and bolts of practice in the court that included Hon. James P. Flannery, Jr., Presiding Judge of the Law Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County. Also included in the tour was the clerk’s office and the filing of documents including e-filing as well as the basics of service of process involving the Cook County Sheriff’s Office. “Basics of Probate Procedure and Tips for Practitioners” was presented by Hon. Moshe Jacobius, Presiding Judge of the Chancery Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County; “Basics of Probate Procedure and Tips for Practitioners” was presented by Hon. Mary Ellen Coghlan, Presiding Judge of the Probate Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County; and “Basics of the Criminal Division and Tips for Practitioners” was presented by Hon. Neera Walsh of the Criminal Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County. The informative and interesting program offered continuing legal education credit for lawyers.
