On Thursday, February 19, 2015, Clifford Law Offices will sponsor a free two-hour continuing legal education program called “The Ethics of Conflicts of Interest” in the eighth annual Clifford Law Offices Continuing Legal Education Series. The program will provide attendees advice on the following questions:
- When are you barred from representing multiple clients or appearing adversely to a current or former client?
- When is the representation permitted with the clients’ informed consent, and how should consent be obtained?
- How do courts handle alleged conflicts when they are raised in disqualification motions?
- Which conflicts are the most frequent subject of disciplinary decisions and lawsuits?
- And more.
This event has been approved for two hours of professional responsibility credit in Illinois. The program will be presented by Senior Partner of Clifford Law Offices and Chicago lawyer, Robert A. Clifford; the Honorable Virginia M. Kendall; and the Louis Stein Chair at Fordham University School of Law and Director of its Stein Center for Law and Ethics, Bruce A. Green. The event will be on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 2:30-4:30 pm CST. It will be broadcasted live via the internet from Chicago.
