Where is the FAA in Investigating Foreign Aviation Operations Like the Jet Involved in the Fatal Tragedy in Philadelphia?

Robert A. Clifford, founder and senior partner of Clifford Law Offices and a leading aviation attorney who currently is Lead Counsel in the litigation involving a Boeing crash, is asking federal authorities if they are thoroughly investigating foreign companies like the Mexican aviation company that operated the medivac jet killing all six people aboard in Philadelphia yesterday.

“Where is the FAA in allowing foreign corporations like the Mexican company operating the plane in the Philadelphia tragedy that experienced a previous fatal incident prior to Friday’s fatal incident?” Clifford asks.  “The Mexican operator reportedly was involved in a November 2023 Lear jet medivac crash in Mexico eerily similar to the one in Philadelphia.  That should have rung all sorts of bells and whistles for the FAA to take a closer look at this operator’s performance and service in the U.S. and perhaps Friday’s tragedy could have been avoided.”

A Learjet carrying a pediatric patient and five others crashed Friday killing all on board  and killing another person on the ground and injuring at least 19 others in northeast Philadelphia.  Mexican-based Jet Rescue Air Ambulance was operating the aircraft at the time of the fatal crash about 6:30 p.m. local time.

In a separate incident, Clifford called for the suspension of all helicopters over the crowded airspace near the capitol hours before the FAA restricted such flights near Reagan National Airport.  Clifford Law Offices has received numerous inquiries from devastated family members who lost loved ones in that fatal crash regarding their legal rights and sorting out the complex legal issues involved in that Wednesday night tragedy.
